The Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IChF) was honored to host Professor Gianvito Vile as part of the prestigious Dream Chemistry Lectures series on February 6^th.

Professor Vile, an expert in chemical engineering and catalysis, is currently an Associate Professor at Politecnico di Milano. His groundbreaking research focuses on single-atom catalysis, a transformative approach that enhances chemical efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.

During his lecture, Professor Vile presented his pioneering work on carbon-based single-atom catalysts (SACs). These catalysts, with their atomically dispersed active sites, offer significant advancements in reactivity, selectivity, and sustainability. His discussion explored the synthesis and application of SACs, highlighting their role in replacing traditional organometallic catalysts in key organic transformations such as cross-coupling reactions, hydrogenations, and C‑H activations.
