Prof. Adam Kubas, Director of IPC-PAS, opened the congress, emphasizing the institute’s dedication to solving real-world problems. Keynotes by renowned experts covered a variety of topics, such as science diplomacy, public engagement in science, and integrating lifestyle medicine into environmental stewardship. The congress also featured an“Elevator Pitch” session, where ten presenters showcased innovative solutions.
The event continued with two panel sessions. The first, moderated by Prof. Juan Carlos Colmenares, focused on the intersections of AI, water management, and hydrogen production, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between Poland and Colombia in advancing hydrogen technology. Local governance was also highlighted as crucial for long-term sustainability.
The second panel, led by Prof. Fernando Colmenares, addressed the intersection of education, health, and international cooperation, with a focus on Colombia’s Wayuu indigenous community. Speakers discussed the potential of renewable energy and biotechnology to address social and environmental challenges, highlighting successful international partnerships. The congress underscored the importance of collaboration between academia, industry, and government, which is vital to advancing sustainable development.
