The symposium, titled “Advanced Ceramics for Energy and Environmental Applications,” aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of the function of advanced ceramics, particularly composite structures, highlighting their crucial role in environmental monitoring and remediation. The symposium showcased innovative approaches in photocatalysis, water treatment, hydrogen production, and carbon capture, among other significant areas.
The event facilitated knowledge exchange and collaboration among experts, offering a platform for interdisciplinary discourse aimed at advancing sustainable technologies.

The event organizers, including Prof. Elisa Moretti (Ca’ Foscari University of Venice), Prof. Dr. Juan Carlos Colmenares Quintero (Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences), and Prof. Alberto Vomiero (Luleå University of Technology), emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between academia, industry, and funding agencies to drive forward the development of efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly energy materials.
The E‑MRS 2024 Fall Meeting was a significant step toward advancing sustainable solutions for a cleaner and more efficient energy future, providing a roadmap for future research and innovation in the field.
